Yes. Taxi COEs are COEs for cars of engine capacity below 1600cc.

SMRT still operates some W210 Merc E-class taxis, they are of the E220CDi model.

    • Our Merc cabs are all E220 CDi..haha..and I think it unfair for the govt to collect COEs for the taxis that they purchase..ultimately, the cars are to be used as public transport, not private transport..maybe LTA should look into it..if taxi operators do not have to pay COEs for the cars they buy, then the cab fares can be lowered.. • I spotted a Comfort Toyota Crown today SHC1077L with its rear rego plate on the bumper (instead of the boot) & its a rectangle one as well…anyone came across before?

    • Yup..they haven't bring the number plates back to the boot..because of a advert last time..the Moove advert on the boot forced the number plate to the bumper..maybe they are just lazy to move it back to the boot..lol Laughing

Now I know the reason & thanks a lot...but it seems rather weird though & hope they move the number plate back to the original position Rolling Eyes

    • Haha..i doubt they will move it back though..to Comfort, they will be thinking why waaste the money moving the number plate back to the boot when it serves the same purpose..as long got number plate can liao..lol..even if they are going to move it back, it will take a million years..haha..cuz if driver don't bring taxi back to HQ for servicing, they also can't do it..
